Naked & Famous Denim constantly challenges how we think about denim, and likes to combine unusual properties in their products. Their Sea Island Cotton Selvedge , a 14oz Japanese selvedge denim, is a good example of just that.
Sea Island Cotton Selvedge is made from the finest American Sea Island cotton, an extra long staple (ELS) cotton. This exclusive cotton originally comes from the Caribbean, but is now also grown on the border between Texas and New Mexico. In this unique desert climate, 1100 meters above sea level, the cotton enjoys a whopping 3700 hours of sunshine a year – more than even in the Caribbean. At the same time, cool nights allow the cotton to rest, resulting in extraordinary fiber length and strength.
What makes this denim special is its contrasting properties. On the one hand, the fabric is robust and durable, as we expect from top-quality denim. On the other hand, the Sea Island cotton provides a silky texture, which creates an unusually high level of comfort. This unique combination makes the jeans extremely comfortable to wear all day long.
The American Sea Island Cotton Selvedge Jeans reflect Naked & Famous's dedication to premium craftsmanship. They feature fine details like a hidden selvedge coin pocket, copper brown leather patch, silver-tone hardware, and a vintage-inspired pink selvedge ID.
All pairs are carefully cut, sewn and assembled in Naked & Famous's own factory - in fact, the last remaining jeans factory in Canada. This gives full control over the quality, ensuring that every pair lives up to the brand's high standards.
More than just a pair of jeans, American Sea Island Cotton Selvedge is a successful combination of luxury and durability. With a unique blend of silky comfort and rugged strength, these jeans are a sophisticated addition to any denim collection.
