True Guy Hemp Blend Selvedge from Naked & Famous is a classic selvedge jean made from Japanese denim, woven on traditional shuttle looms. This production method produces the distinctive selvedge edge and a dense, durable denim that develops distinct fades over time.

The denim weighs 11oz , making it light to medium compared to classic raw denim. The fabric is made from 77% cotton and 23% hemp , which provides a combination of strength, breathability and a more vibrant texture to the surface.

The True Guy fit has a regular waist, plenty of room in the seat and thighs, and a straight leg from knee to ankle opening. The result is a classic silhouette inspired by traditional workwear jeans.

The denim fabric is woven in Japan , while the jeans are cut and sewn in Canada .

About denim fabric

Hemp Blend Selvedge is a Japanese denim that combines traditional cotton with natural hemp fibers . Hemp has longer fibers than cotton, which contributes to increased durability and a more robust structure in the fabric.

The denim is indigo rope-dyed , where the indigo is mainly on the outside of the yarn. The core of the fibers remains lighter, which causes the fabric to develop contrasting fades as the jeans are worn.

The warp yarn is indigo dyed, while the weft yarn consists of a cotton and hemp blend . The hemp fibers give a subtle hairy texture and a more organic look to the surface of the denim.

The denim is woven in a classic twill construction and features a white-green-white selvedge ID , a subtle detail that references the hemp fibers in the fabric.
