SOLID BLACK - Groovy Guy 13 oz

Groovy Guy from Naked & Famous is a classic selvedge jean made from Japanese denim, woven on traditional shuttle looms. This production method produces the distinctive selvedge edge and a dense, durable denim that develops distinct fades over time.

The denim is a 13oz Solid Black Selvedge where both the warp and weft are sulfur-dyed black. The result is a deep, consistent black color throughout the fabric. The sulfur dyeing allows the jeans to stay dark longer than traditional indigo denim, while allowing them to gradually develop subtle fades with use. The fabric is woven in a classic right hand twill construction on vintage shuttle looms in Japan.

The denim weighs 13oz, which makes it medium compared to classic raw denim. The fabric is made of 100% cotton and will gradually mold to the body with use.

The Groovy Guy fit features a high waist, standard thigh room and a bootcut silhouette with a wider leg opening from knee to calf. The result is a fit inspired by vintage jeans from the 60s and 70s, designed to work well with boots.

The denim fabric is woven in Japan, while the jeans are cut and sewn in Canada.
