Strong Guy Solid Black from Naked & Famous Denim is a classic selvedge jean made from Japanese raw denim, woven on traditional shuttle looms. This production method creates the characteristic selvedge edge and a dense denim fabric that develops patina and wear patterns over time.

The denim weighs 13oz , making it a medium weight raw denim. The fabric is made from 100% cotton and will gradually mold to your body through use.

The Strong Guy fit is a relaxed straight fit with a high rise, roomy seat and thighs, and straight legs with a wide leg opening. The result is a classic silhouette inspired by vintage workwear jeans.

The denim fabric is woven in Japan, while the jeans are cut and sewn in Canada.

About denim fabric

These jeans are made from 13oz Solid Black Selvedge , a classic Japanese denim where both the warp and weft are dyed black. The yarn is sulfur dyed , a dyeing method that gives a deep and consistent black tone throughout the fabric.

Because both the warp and weft are dyed black, the jeans have a pitch-black color that stays dark longer than traditional indigo denim. After long-term use, they will gradually fade to dark gray.

The denim is woven in right hand twill , a classic denim construction that gives the fabric a distinct diagonal structure. The weaving is done on traditional shuttle looms, which gives the characteristic red line selvedge edge .

The combination of Japanese weaving techniques, sulfur dyeing and classic twill makes this a robust and minimalist black denim that develops character over time.
