The 1923 Buccanoy Shirt Iwaki Grey from Pike Brothers is a classic grandfather shirt inspired by men's shirts from the 1920s . The style is based on historical shirts with a band collar, a collarless construction that was originally used with detachable collars. This made it easier to wash and stiffen the collar separately, which was common practice in men's fashion until the 1940s.
The Iwaki Grey version is made from a light and breathable fabric of 80% cotton and 20% linen (160 g/m²) . The material mix gives a natural look and makes the shirt comfortable all year round. The shirt has a full button placket at the front and a slim fit that gives a clean and classic silhouette. The fabric and shirt are produced in Portugal , in line with Pike Brothers' focus on quality and traditional craftsmanship.
The shirt works equally well for everyday wear as for more formal occasions, and goes particularly well with jeans, chinos or other classic workwear garments.
