WORKFORCE SELVEDGE - Zip Chore Coat

The Zip Chore Coat Workforce Selvedge from Naked & Famous is a classic workwear jacket made from Japanese selvedge denim, woven on traditional shuttle looms. This production method produces the distinctive selvedge edge and a dense, durable denim that develops distinct fades over time.

The denim weighs 10.9oz , making it light to medium compared to classic raw denim. The fabric is made from 100% cotton and starts out relatively stiff, but quickly softens with use.

The fit is a classic workwear jacket with plenty of room in the chest and arms for layering. The jacket has a zip at the front and slanted hand pockets at the side. The result is a functional silhouette inspired by traditional work jackets.

The denim fabric is woven in Japan , while the jacket is cut and sewn in Canada .

About denim fabric

Workforce Selvedge is designed to mimic classic vintage workwear denim. The fabric has a lighter workwear blue indigo tone that allows jeans and jackets made from this fabric to develop lighter, more vintage-inspired fades.

The warp yarn is indigo-dyed, while the weft yarn consists of slubby and neppy white cotton threads . These uneven yarns create small cotton bumps and texture in the fabric, giving a distinct vintage look both on the outside and inside of the denim.

The denim is woven in a classic twill construction and features a blue selvedge ID along the edge of the fabric. The result is a denim with a distinct texture, high abrasion resistance and fades that develop relatively quickly compared to darker indigo fabrics.
