The M1012RC from Big John is a heavy selvedge jean from the brand's GR (Green) Label , a line developed with a focus on sustainability and Japanese denim craftsmanship. The model combines classic workwear design with a more modern focus on recycled materials.

The jeans are made from 16oz Japanese selvedge denim , a heavy denim fabric woven on traditional looms. The fabric is 100% cotton , but a large portion of the fibers come from recycled cotton that would normally be discarded during spinning and production.

The fit is a relaxed wide straight fit with a high waist, roomy thighs and straight legs. The silhouette gives a strong, classic denim profile inspired by vintage workwear jeans.

The jeans are produced in Japan.

About denim fabric

This model is made from 16oz Japanese selvedge denim developed for Big Johns GR Label. The fabric contains approximately 40% recycled cotton , including fibers from cotton waste and regenerated cotton fibers that are usually discarded in the production process.

Using these fibers gives the denim a more uneven structure with slubs and small neps , giving the fabric a distinct vintage feel and a more vibrant texture.

The heavy 16oz weight also means that the jeans will develop noticeable fades over time. At the same time, the wide fit provides good comfort and freedom of movement.
