1943 DECK HOOK JACKET - Atlantic

The USN Deck Hook Jacket was introduced around 1943/44 as a further development of the Deck Zip Jacket. The US Navy experimented with a hook system, inspired by firefighter jackets, to improve functionality in harsh conditions. Earlier models had an external zipper, but this was vulnerable to frost and difficult to open with gloves. The hooks solved this problem, making the jacket easier to handle in freezing conditions.

The originals were only produced for one year, making them highly sought after by collectors. This jacket is a replica without the inscription on the back.
