The M1011RC from Big John is a Japanese selvedge jean from the brand's Wild Duck series , developed with a focus on sustainable denim production and classic workwear design. The series combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with innovative materials inspired by nature.

The jeans are made from 13.5oz Yoshidenim selvedge , a mid-weight denim that offers a good balance between durability and comfort. The fabric consists of 94% cotton and 6% plant fiber from reeds harvested from Lake Kojima in Japan. These reeds are normally removed every year to prevent pollution, but Big John has developed a method to spin them into the denim fibers.

The fit is relaxed wide straight with a high waist, roomy seat and thighs, and straight legs. The result is a classic workwear silhouette inspired by vintage jeans.

The denim fabric is woven and the jeans are manufactured in Japan .

About Yoshidenim fabric

The denim in the M1011RC is called YOSHIDENIM , a fabric developed by Big John as part of the brand's environmentally focused Green Label projects.

The main idea behind the fabric is to use reeds from Lake Kojima in Okayama , a material that was previously cut and thrown away as waste. The fibers from the reeds are mixed with cotton and spun into a new yarn that is both durable and lightly textured.

This fiber blend provides several distinctive features:

• more vibrant texture in the fabric

• slightly uneven texture reminiscent of vintage denim

• a material that reuses natural resources that would otherwise be thrown away

The selvedge edge is green (“Midori Mimi”) , a detail that symbolizes denim developed in harmony with nature.

What is Yoshidenim?

Yoshidenim is an innovative denim developed by Big John that combines cotton with fibers from reeds that grow in the Kojima area of ​​Japan.
