The Anchor Jacket, officially called the Jacket, Combat, Winter by the US Army, was introduced in 1941. Originally part of a winter set for armoured personnel, which also included a lined hat and lined bib and brace overalls, the jacket quickly became popular far beyond the armoured ranks. Its functional design and more relaxed look meant that many soldiers and officers preferred it to other military jackets in use at the time.

Officers in particular took to using the jacket because it was both warmer and more practical than many of the other uniform jackets from the period. After the war, the design became one of the most copied military jackets in the world, precisely because it combines simple construction with high functionality. Today, original Tanker Jackets from World War II are sought-after collectors' items, and examples in good condition can fetch very high prices.

This reproduction is based on a typical example from the 1940s that was originally privately tailored for officers. Such jackets were often made with small adjustments that gave a more personal and refined expression. Our version of the 1941 Tanker Jacket therefore has a thicker blanket-type wool lining for extra warmth, as well as a practical inner pocket. The jacket lacks the classic bi-swing back or action back , which gives a cleaner and sharper silhouette.
