Jeans that changed the world

CEO Inger Kristin Haugsevje has been on the podcast " Stories that changed the world " and talked about jeans.

In the podcast you'll learn a little about why they're called jeans in Norwegian, who invented jeans and why left hand twill is not just a gimmick, but also a preference.

Stories that changed the world is a podcast from Gjenkolang with host Christian Konglund. Every week he invites a new expert to tell a more or less well-known historical event that has had a major impact on the development of the world as we know it today. This episode is about jeans.

Inger Kristin Haugsevje owns and operates Vintage Jeans and stumbled into the vintage industry somewhat by chance in 2015. Since then, she has been interested in reusing quality clothing, especially jeans. In the fall of 2018, she started a separate jeans department for her store. In 2019, the original store, which was located on a side street off Markveien, moved to Olav Ryes plass.

After a few hard years of pandemic and high prices, Haugsevje made the decision in the fall of 2023 to close one of its stores and be more present in the store itself. It also became natural to focus more on jeans. Today, Vintage Jeans is a store that sells both used and new quality jeans. Here you can get jeans that do not necessarily fit into today's fast fashion fashion image.
