The Troyer likely owes its name to the English town of Troy Town, though some sources trace it back to Low German. Traditionally knitted from pure wool for its water-repellent and insulating qualities, the Troyer kept seafarers warm and protected even in wet, harsh conditions. Its maritime heritage makes it a timeless garment, valued for durability, reliability, and simplicity. Today it is crafted from RWS-certified Merino wool by the Italian spinning mill Tollegno, ensuring the highest quality.
